How Omkar Came Into Existence – A Sahaja Yogic Perspective
The Cosmic Origin According to Shri Mataji
In the beginning, there was Parameshwar, the Supreme Being.
Parameshwar, feeling alone, manifested Adi Shakti, the primordial energy.
Adi Shakti created the Gods, and instructed them to create Omkar — the soundless, formless cosmic vibration.
After intense spiritual labour, the Gods created Omkar, and through Adi Shakti, Shri Ganesh was created as the essence of auspiciousness and innocence.
Omkar and Shri Ganesh are one and the same in spiritual principle — representing purity, auspiciousness, and the foundation of spiritual life.
Creation of Life
The gross (physical) and subtle (energy/spirit) bodies were brought together.
The first life form, an amoeba, emerged when Omkar shakti was instilled into matter.
From there, 84 lakh (8.4 million) species evolved, culminating in the human being — spiritually designed for realization of the Divine.
Humans were given ego and super-ego to experience free will, which also led to spiritual misdirection.
Role of Saints and Avatars
Over time, avatars of Vishnu (from Matsya to Buddha) uplifted humanity.
Saints and sages like Sant Tukaram, Dnyaneshwar, and others guided humans through teachings and scriptures but could not directly transmit spiritual experience.
Shri Mataji’s Contribution -
Shri Mataji, as the incarnation of Adi Shakti, brought the direct experience of the divine through Kundalini awakening.
Through Sahaja Yoga, anyone can awaken their Kundalini and help others do the same — like lighting one lamp with another.
This was never possible before, and is considered the true revolution in spirituality.
Omkar and Its Diagrams
A series of diagrams are referenced (though not shown here), which explain the evolution of Omkar from:
Brahma (nothingness)
Bindu (Shiva as the cosmic point)
Valaya (circular energy)
Rotations of bindu and valaya creating dynamic motion
Creation of gunas (Satwa, Rajo, Tamo)
Three and a half formations as the basis of the Om symbol
The Concept of Three and a Half
The "3½" principle is considered fundamental to:
Geometry of the universe (like π = 22/7)
Clock mechanics (balance, rhythm)
Kundalini (rises through 3½ coils in the sacrum bone)
Shri Mataji explained how this principle underlies both spiritual design and material constructs, like clocks.
Call to Action for Sahaja Yogis
It's not enough to just meditate and feel good.
The true purpose is to:
- Give vibrations to others
- Heal
- Spread pure love
- Help others experience the divine
- Without this, even attending pujas and meditation has limited value.
🙏 Final Thoughts
This narrative blends cosmic creation, spiritual metaphysics, and practical Sahaja Yoga philosophy. It emphasizes that:
The Omkar is not just a symbol or sound — it is a living, divine force.
Shri Ganesh embodies that force in its purest, most childlike and auspicious form.
Shri Mataji, as Adi Shakti, came to give real spiritual experience, not just teachings.
